Verstappen gives verdict on whether he would take his racing team into F1

The four-time world champion has increasingly expanded his activities away from F1, with Verstappen Racing developing through GT and endurance competition. The Dutchman's ambitions for the team remain significant, but he has made clear that its future lies outside single-seater racing.

Verstappen instead wants to build a professional operation capable of fighting for victories in multiple racing categories, with endurance racing a particular focus. However, when asked about eventually entering F1 as a team owner, Verstappen gave a straightforward response, explaining why he has no interest in taking on such a demanding challenge.

Speaking in an interview with Formula 1 magazine, he replied when quizzed about the possibility: “No, because that’s way too demanding. Then I’d still be on the road for 24 races a year or very busy with my own racing team."

Asked where he sees his team in the next 10 to 20 years, he added: "By then, there should be a professional racing team competing for victories in the various racing classes. Nothing more, nothing less. We’re not going to compete just because it’s fun to race. We want to be at the front, win races, and, at the very least, consistently compete at the front.”

Meanwhile, Verstappen has made it clear that he has no desire to be treated differently because of his Formula 1 status as he continues to explore his passion for endurance racing.

The Dutchman, speaking to Racing News 365, has stressed that he does not want his status as an F1 driver to change how he approaches endurance racing.
