MotoGP team makes unexpected post in quest to find second rider for 2027

At the moment, Trackhouse has one rider confirmed for the 2027 MotoGP season. Ahead of the British Grand Prix, it was confirmed that Raul Fernandez had signed a contract extension. Meanwhile, Ai Ogura will not remain with the American outfit and will join the Yamaha factory team next year alongside Jorge Martin.

"The SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team races factory-spec Aprilia machinery at the top level of the sport, alongside teammate Raul Fernandez. We value speed, precision, and a healthy relationship with risk," the team writes.

The team also explained that it is looking for applicants with "Moto2, Moto3 or a suspiciously competitive karting scene experience", "reflexes that outrun conscious thought", "being fluent in English, conversational in apologising," and speaking Italian is also a plus, among other things.

In the rumor mill, two riders have been linked to Trackhouse. One of them is current Tech3 rider Enea Bastianini, who is reportedly looking for a new seat, as Guenther Steiner's team is also reportedly expected to have a completely different line-up in 2027. Another rider who has been mentioned is Manuel Gonzalez, who finished second in the Moto2 standings last year behind Diogo Moreira and currently leads the championship.

After it was announced that he will stay with Trackhouse for the next two seasons, Fernandez won the MotoGP race at Silverstone on Sunday afternoon.

The Spanish rider pulled away during the first half of the race from the rest of the pack, and managed to hold on during the final part to claim all 25 points, finishing ahead of the two factory riders, Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi.

Meanwhile, Ogura crashed out in the penultimate corner and failed to score any points.
