George Russell showcased his Formula 1 expertise at Times Square in New York by flawlessly identifying the sound of a Red Bull engine. In the first part of the quiz, Russell listened to five different engine sounds and had to guess their configurations — was it a V6, V8, V10, V12, or a Formula E engine? The Englishman nailed every single one. But that wasn’t enough for him; he decided to push himself even further.
“I think I can even recognize which manufacturer the engine came from,” said Russell after flawlessly identifying all five engine sounds.
The interviewer asked Russell if he wanted to try naming the manufacturers of the engines. “Let’s give it a try!” said Russell after completing the first quiz without any mistakes. First, Russell was played the sound of a V8 engine, and he immediately knew it was from Red Bull.
Upon hearing a V6 engine, the Mercedes driver made a mistake. He thought it was an engine from his own manufacturer, but that was incorrect.
Finally, Russell was played the sound of a V10 engine. He ended the quiz on a high note by correctly identifying Ferrari for the last sound. Overall, an impressive performance by the Formula 1 driver.
Russell and Red Bull
In recent weeks, George Russell has been at the center of many Formula 1 discussions, largely due to speculation about Max Verstappen’s future in the sport. The Dutchman is often linked with a move to Mercedes, where he could end up as a teammate to either Russell or Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Meanwhile,
Russell’s own future is also under scrutiny, with rumors swirling that he might join Red Bull — though nothing has been confirmed yet.
