A week after his historic first podium in Formula 1, Nico Hulkenberg wanted to share a special thank-you message to his fans through his Instagram profile. At 37 years old and after 239 Grand Prix starts, Nico Hulkenberg can finally boast a podium finish in Formula 1 on his very own record.
A driver who has always delivered solid results throughout his career, yet for some odd reason has often seen his teammates stand on the podium instead.
This time, however, luck was on his side, as the crazy weather at last weekend’s Silverstone Grand Prix allowed him to finally finish in the top three, outsmarting local hero
Lewis Hamilton, who vainly tried to claim his own first podium with Ferrari.
Once the excitement of the celebrations had settled, the Sauber driver wanted to thank his fans once again by sharing a heartfelt message on his Instagram profile.

Hulkenberg thanks his fans once again
''Hello everybody, a week or a little bit more on from Silverstone Sunday, just wanted to take the opportunity and say thank you to a lot of people,'' he said.
''It was very overwhelming the reactions yand the amount of close people, supporters, friends, family of course but also fans and and just people I don't even know. So it means a lot. I appreciate it. It's very nice to see all that support and love and positivity.''
''Obviously it took a couple of days to reflect on it and digest and let it sink in. Feels very good. Still very happy and proud of what we've achieved there two Sundays ago. Thank you all. Taking a little break now and see you all again in Spa.''
