Nico Hulkenberg looks at the bright side... Oscar Piastri, in the aftermath of the British GP which saw the German driver take his first ever podium in F1, highlighted a painful truth for the Sauber man.
The chance kept coming along throughout Hulkenberg's 15 year-long career at marked ocassions, but the German was always, for one reason or another, unable to clinch it.
For the first time, though, it happened. Hulkenberg aboard his C45 Sauber crossed the finish line in P3 at Silverstone behind both McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, respectively.

'After a 15 year-long wait, you got a toy trophy'

With a costly penalty at his back which lost him the win at the British Grand Prix, and also prompted many questions for the Aussie driver from the media during the post-race press conference, Piastri took over from present media and probed Hulkenberg on a rather sensitive topic.
"I also have a question for Nico. How does it feel after fifteen years of F1 to get a podium [trophy] that's made out of Lego that you can just pull apart?"

'A bit of gold would've been nice'

In light of the recent alliance between F1 and LEGO, their collaborations have grown in numbers and range from LEGO model cars to F1 trophies. All podium 'silverware' at the British Grand Prix was indeed made out of building blocks.
Hulkenberg woul've liked something sturdier despite professing his love for the toy brand. "Yeah. I love Lego! It's good. My daughter can play with it too. You’ve always got to see the bright side. But, you know, a bit of silver or gold would have been nice too, but I won't complain."
