Rafael Camara, one of the brightest prospects from the Ferrari Driver Academy, is preparing for the next step in his career. According to GPblog, sources in the Formula 2 paddock confirm the Brazilian is close to signing with Invicta Racing. Camara clinched the Formula 3 title before the final weekend in Italy, underlining his status as one of the sport’s rising stars. His promotion to F2 comes as no surprise after such a commanding season - nor does Invicta’s interest. The British outfit has made it a tradition to sign the reigning F3 champion.
Camera began karting at six years old and quickly emerged as one of Brazil's most promising talent. He clinched numerous titles in karting, including a second-place finish at the Karting World Championship in the OK Junior class in 2019, along with victories at the prestigious WSK Champions Cup and Super Master Series in 2021. He joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2022.
Alongside Camara, Joshua Dürksen of Paraguay is expected to join the team as its second driver. That would mean Leonardo Fornaroli will depart, regardless of whether he secures the 2025 F2 championship.
Last year, former F3 champion Gabriel Bortoleto took the title in Formula 2 with Invicta Racing and the Brazilian has impressed this year when stepping up to F1 with Sauber. This season it's the F3 champion of 2024 - the Italian Leo Fornaroli - who leads the title fight.

Until recently, the F2 driver market had been relatively stable, with most seats verbally agreed upon. However,
Colton Herta’s announcement that he will switch from IndyCar to F2 has stirred up the paddock.
GPblog reported earlier this weekend that Rodin is the most likely destination for the American. However, in Italy, half the grid seems interested in the IndyCar race winner. Multiple teams would want to snatch him for 2026.
