The Scuderia Ferrari team have confirmed that Fred Vasseur will be present at the Monaco Grand Prix after missing Saturday’s action. Vasseur missed the second day of on-track running, with the Ferrari outfit issuing a statement confirming that the 58-year-old had been taken to the hospital and was under observation at a local medical facility.
While the Maranello outfit provided no further update on the team principal’s condition, it announced that deputy team boss
Jérôme d’Ambrosio would step in for Vasseur during Saturday’s running in the Principality.
GPblog, however, can confirm the French motorsport chief would be present at the pit wall during today’s race.
D’Ambrosio's update on Vasseur
On Saturday, d’Ambrosio was
quizzed about the condition of Vasseur. The Belgian offered a measured update on the French motorsport chief. Speaking to Sky Sports, the 40-year-old stated:
“Without going into details, he’s okay. He had to go under some checks today, but he’s okay.”Pressed further about the details surrounding Vasseur’s absence and whether he would be available on the Ferrari pit wall for Sunday’s race, the Belgian motorsport chief refused to add any more detail.

Ferrari miss out on Monaco Grand Prix pole
Amid the absence of their team boss on Saturday, the Ferrari outfit witnessed both Charles
Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton miss out on pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix.
The pair, who had kicked off the weekend in brilliant fashion by trading leads and topping every practice session on Friday, found themselves trailing Kimi Antonelli during the final practice of the weekend. The woes for the Maranello outfit were further compounded during qualifying, with Max Verstappen even clocking a quicker time to lock out the front row alongside Antonelli.
Hamilton was the leading Ferrari in qualifying, securing a third-place start, with Leclerc only quick enough for fourth. The Monegasque driver clipped the wall on his final push lap, ending any possibility of him claiming pole in front of his home crowd.
The weather forecast for the Monaco GP
Ferrari set the early pace in Monaco, with
Charles Leclerc and
Lewis Hamilton leading the times on Friday before the field closed up in FP3, as things looked good for the team.
Kimi Antonelli carried that momentum into qualifying to take pole, edging Max Verstappen by 0.043 seconds as the Ferraris slipped to the second row. Race-day conditions are set to be stable, with temperatures around 21–23°C and no rain expected.
