Russell already in Mercedes simulator: 'Preparing as best as possible'

George Russell has finished his first official day at Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton's brand new team-mate shared a video from the Mercedes factory in Brackley, where he was introduced to his new team.

Russell is clearly in his element at his new employer. "I can't wait to get started, obviously" beamed the 23-year-old Briton, who had a busy day. "I met so many people today and drove in the simulator to prepare as best as possible."

Around his new team-mate, however, there remains a deafening silence. It seems that Russell will have to be patient before he is officially introduced to Hamilton as his teammate.
