The FIA has announced the outcome of the investigations involving Isack Hadjar and Esteban Ocon, with both drivers having appeared before the stewards following British Grand Prix qualifying. The stewards cleared the Haas driver after reviewing the alleged yellow flag infringement at Turn 13. Ocon explained that he had spotted white smoke further up the road before reaching the incident, prompting him to anticipate a potential yellow or red flag.
As a result, he lifted off the throttle earlier than usual and remained off the throttle for longer through the sector. After examining the telemetry, the stewards found that his speed had been sufficiently reduced compared to a representative lap and decided that no further action was warranted.
Hadjar was investigated after exceeding the maximum delta time between the Safety Car lines during qualifying. After reviewing the incident, the stewards chose not to impose a penalty, accepting that the Frenchman had exceeded the limit only because he was making room for other cars.
They determined that he maintained an appropriate pace for most of the lap and only slowed when necessary to let faster drivers pass safely, meaning his actions did not amount to driving unnecessarily slowly.
The investigations involving
Pierre Gasly and Lance Stroll remain ongoing, with the pair having been summoned over an alleged impeding incident at Turn 15 during Q1. Also still pending is the case
involving Oscar Piastri and Arvid Lindblad, after the Briton was called to the stewards over an alleged unsafe release in the pit lane that forced the Australian to brake to avoid a collision.
