Alpine have fired a warning towards their championship rivals ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.
The British-French squad are currently sixth in the constructors’ championship, a vast improvement after they finished bottom in 2025.
With 61 points, Alpine are just five behind Racing Bulls, who currently lead the so-called ‘midfield battle’ but they’re more than ready to claim that spot back.
Speaking ahead of the final race at Zandvoort, managing director Steve Nielsen raised expectations.

Alpine target fifth place with Dutch Grand Prix upgrades

“We have a few upgrades available this weekend, which we will run on the car in practice ahead of sprint qualifying,” he said in a press release.
“The plan is to bring more as and when we can, and hopefully it will be enough to put us in the on-track fight to score as many points as possible.
“We have said many times that we are in a close championship fight and if we are able to bring performance to our car we can achieve our objective by the end of the season.”
Giving his take, Franco Colapinto made it clear that fifth-place in the standings is Alpine’s target for the season.

Speaking about returning from the summer break, he commented: “We ended a bit disappointed, which I was able to reflect on because it shows how far we have come as a team from this position last year.
“To now be fighting for fifth in the constructors' championship is really impressive, and we all really want to do a great job and secure the result for the team.
“There is a long way to go still, so we need to start on the front foot in Zandvoort this weekend.
“It will be interesting to see what it's like as a sprint weekend and we need to start well on Friday morning so we can find a rhythm and push to the limits early on as we aim for a return to the top ten.”

Despite the positivity, Alpine haven’t had it all their own way recently, losing out to not just Racing Bulls but also Audi in recent races.
Speaking to GPblog and others after the Hungarian Grand Prix, Pierre Gasly went into depth explaining the team’s recent problems.

Gasly explains why Dutch Grand Prix upgrades are 'critical'

“There's been a couple of races where it's kind of the same story,” he said. “In qualifying, 12th, 13th, behind Racing Bulls and Audi.

"In the race, it's like somehow you think that maybe we're going to be there, and then I can see them, but it's just pure pace; we're not there
“It also doesn't feel good in the car; the car is not reacting at all the way I'd like. It doesn't allow me to drive the way I need. And there are quite a few things to fix."
Yet delivering some hope for what will be a crucial Dutch Grand Prix outing, he finished: “I think the aero is very inconsistent, and I think it's something which we know and hopefully will be fixed in Zandvoort.
"That's the standard of Formula 1, if you bring upgrades, you expect it to definitely get better and on my side, I'm not doubting that it's going to do what the team expects.
"It's important because Aston Martin improved by two seconds this weekend; they have another engine coming. Racing Bulls improved by seconds since the start of the year, and Audi as well, and we just didn't do many steps. So, I think it's critical for us if we want to keep the hope for fifth place in the championship.”
