Verstappen furious on team radio: "What a dumb idiot!"

Max Verstappen failed to reach pole position in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix. After the session, the Dutchman was furious over the team radio, because drivers in front of him made mistakes which caused him to lose time.

Just before Verstappen finished his second run, he saw Yuki Tsunoda and Sergio Perez shoot off the track. Partly because of this, Verstappen was unable to improve his own time. The Red Bull Racing driver was not happy about Tsunoda's mistake.

"What a dumb idiot", he said on the radio after his lap. His engineer could not explain why Tsunoda went to the side of the track. Perez was probably frightened by the action of the Japanese driver, so he too had to end his lap prematurely.
