Jannik Sinner was crowned Wimbledon champion on Sunday. After the match, the Italian tennis player revealed that his brother, in contrast to earlier this year, attended the match. This was mainly because there was no Formula 1 race last weekend, according to the Wimbledon champion.
Earlier this year, Sinner played in the final of the Rome Open, which he lost to Carlos Alcaraz. After the match, the Italian revealed that his brother preferred to be at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola rather than attending the tennis tournament's final. The race was won by Max Verstappen.

Sinner's brother at Wimbledon 'because there was no F1'

Last Sunday was the Wimbledon final, and once again Sinner faced Alcaraz. This time, he emerged victorious. First, Sinner thanked his team, until he realized he had to address someone else: “Actually a especial thanks to my brother, because there's no Formula 1 race this weekend. That's why he's here.”
Sinner's joke was met with laughter. The brother of the Italian top tennis player could laugh at the joke too. The video of the statement then went viral on TikTok.

F1 resumes at Spa-Francorchamps

For now, Sinner's brother, along with the rest of the Formula 1 community, will have to wait a while before they can watch a Grand Prix again. Following the British Grand Prix, there are two consecutive off weeks before the next race weekend. With one of them alreay in the books, fans now have just under two weeks to wait for the next race.
Spa-Francorchamps will see the F1 action's returned after the fortnight-long hiatus where Helmut Marko announced that improvements to the car are expected for Verstappen and teammate Yuki Tsunoda. It's also a sprint weekend in the Ardennes, so there are extra points up for grabs.
