Alexander Albon has revealed that he has already met Lewis Hamilton's new puppy, which the seven-time world champion publicly introduced on social media just a few weeks ago. Just a few weeks ago,
Hamilton introduced the newest addition to his family, sharing the first pictures of his new puppy, Halo, on social media. The Golden Retriever arrived during the summer break, with the Ferrari driver posting several photos of the pair together as he took some time away from
Formula 1 to rest and recharge.
Halo was flown to Los Angeles and will be trained by Kirstin McMillan, who previously worked with Hamilton's other dogs, Roscoe and Coco. The seven-time world champion revealed the puppy to his followers as part of an Instagram update from his summer break, which also featured new pictures alongside Kim Kardashian.
Speaking on The Fast and the Curious podcast, Albon revealed that he and his girlfriend Lily Muni He have already done their homework on the breeder, before going into surprisingly specific detail about what makes a good-looking Golden Retriever. While insisting that he loves every dog, he admitted that proportions matter to him, from the length of the snout to the slightly baggy appearance he likes in the breed.
"We've done the research already and we know the breeder. It's a good looking dog. There are some golden retrievers out there that just don't have the right proportions. I love every dog, but if I were to get a golden retriever it's got to be a good looking one, and it needs a bit of bagginess."
The conversation then took a more personal and amusing turn, with Albon revealing that Lily has a rather different way of describing his own looks. According to the Williams driver, his girlfriend regularly compares him to a 'Thai street dog', particularly when he returns exhausted from a race weekend with stubble and heads straight from the circuit to the airport without having had the chance to freshen up.
"Lily tells me, and she reminds me this on a daily basis, that I look like a Thai street dog. Especially when I come back from my race weekend and I'm like, got stubble, and you can tell because on Sunday night, you haven't showered. You've gotten from the car, you've just gone straight to the airport. She's like, 'Yeah, you look like a Thai street dog. Go shower, go clean yourself up.'"
