Wolff sees logic in Verstappen's calm reaction to crash with Antonelli

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff was not surprised by Max Verstappen's reaction to the incident with young Kimi Antonelli after the two drivers collided on Lap 1 in Austria.
Heading into Turn 3 on the first lap, Antonelli locked up his rear tyres. As he was unable to stop his car, and hit Max Verstappen's RB21, eliminating both drivers from contention.
Following the incident, Verstappen remained quite calm after the incident, and also defended the Italian youngster.
Talking to GPblog among others, the Dutchman said on Sunday: "I just asked what happened because he was the only car that was there with me with his wheel hanging off. Of course I saw the footage one once I came back. It happens, I mean every driver has made a mistake like that."

Mercedes team principal and CEO Toto Wolff was asked about whether he was surprised by how the four-time world champion reacted to the incident.
The Austrian explained he believes that is partially because they something in common.
"These guys are kart kids, there is a similar trajectory. As a race driver you know that can happen, it happens to everyone and I think this is why there was no big animosity I guess,” he commented to GPblog among others, referring to the fact that Verstappen also started in F1 as a teenager.
The Italian rookie had to go to the stewards after the Austrian Grand Prix concluded, where he received two penalty points on his super license, and a three-place grid penalty for the next race he participated in.
For Verstappen, with this DNF, an outstanding streak ended. The Dutchman did not cross the finish line at a Grand Prix for the first time in 462 day.
