Kimi Antonelli has received a three-place grid penalty and two penalty points on his super license after his incident with Max Verstappen on Lap 1.
On Lap 1, Antonelli collided with the defending world champion into Turn 3. The Italian driver was apologetic when answering GPblog's question about the incident in the paddock.
Then, Antonelli commented: "I apologised to him and I will try to talk to him after just to explain, and to apologise once more. Just because I feel very sorry towards my team, because it's a mistake from my side. But as well I ended his race and this [is] definitely not what I want."

Antonelli gets grid penalty for next round he competes at

Now, the stewards have revealed their verdict. The young Italian got a three-place grid penalty for the race he participates in. Up next on the F1 calendar is the British Grand Prix a week from now. Moreover, he got two penalty points for the incident.
The Italian gets a grid penalty for Silverstone (unless he can't participate there), because he also couldn't continue after the crash.
Antonelli admitted he made a mistake. However, he also argued he had to avoid Liam Lawson, released his brakes for a short period, ended up on the dirty side of the road and therefore crashed into Verstappen.
The stewards say no other car influenced the incident, and Antonelli is fully at fault.
