Following the conclusion of the Austrian GP, Toto Wolff has set a deadline regarding the decision between George Russell and Max Verstappen on who will drive for Mercedes next year.
What will Mercedes’ driver line-up look like in 2026? There’s still no definitive answer, but a decision will be made very soon. So says Toto Wolff, who, after a challenging Austrian GP for the Brackley-based team, once again addressed the ongoing situation in the driver market.

A decision will come soon

''You need to be respectable towards the stakeholders in all of that process'', he told GPblog among the other media after the race.
''The organization, the drivers, everybody, you need to understand how you've got the way forward. I don't want to do statistics and letting a driver wait or not taking any decisions when it should be taken. So I feel we're in a good space with June.''
''''Obviously there's lots of discussions around, but I've been open with it, transparent and at a certain stage and in the next couple of months... until the summer break we need to know. Any point I need to know until the summer break will be over. Everything is going to be done''.
Replying to GPblog's request for clarification, Wolff revealed: ''Maybe the middle [of the summer],''  Wolff concluded.
Both Verstappen and Russell had a tough Sunday at the Red Bull Ring — the Dutchman was forced to retire due to an unfortunate incident with Kimi Antonelli, while the Brit, after his triumph in Canada, had to settle for fifth place.
