Since Christian Horner’s departure, there has been intense speculation about the future of Red Bull Racing. Much of the discussion centres around Max Verstappen’s next move. During a recent livestream on YouTube, Peter Windsor mentioned a surprising name he would like to see join the team.
In the livestream, Windsor responded to questions from viewers. When asked whether Charles Leclerc should consider a move to Red Bull in pursuit of greater success, Windsor said he believes it would be a smart decision.
"I think he's more confused than comfortable at Ferrari. But I completely agree with you — I'd love to see him in a Red Bull, or in a Mercedes, at one of those more disciplined British teams like McLaren, if a spot ever opened up. I think he'd be fantastic there."
"In fact, I’d most love to see him at Red Bull. It would be amazing to see him in the new Red Bull setup under Laurent Mekies. And if Max were to move to Aston Martin, or maybe even to Mercedes down the line, Leclerc would be a perfect fit for that car."
Laurent Mekies replaced the outgoing Christian Horner after the former Red Bull boss was sacked after the British Grand Prix.
"He’s exactly the kind of talent a new team needs. Put him together with Adrian Newey at Red Bull, and let him finally stop playing the ‘good boy’ at Ferrari — that would really be something."

The future of Verstappen at Red Bull is uncertain

Max Verstappen’s future remains uncertain. Speculation about a possible move to Mercedes intensified after he was spotted in Sardinia, where Toto Wolff was also reportedly staying. However, GPblog reported that the overlap was purely coincidental. The outlet has since outlined the current state of affairs surrounding Verstappen’s next steps, which you can see on the website.
