Williams have announced that 1996 World Champion Damon Hill and team principal James Vewles will be invovled in their celebrations at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The British team will be celebrating 30 years since Hill became champion of the world in the pinnacle of motorsport, and as a result, the championship-winning FW18 will be driven up the Goodwood hill throughout the weekend.
The FW18 became one of the more dominant cars in
F1 history, winning 12 out of the 16 races in 1996 to deliver Williams its eighth Constructors' Championship.
After driving Nigel Mansell's FW14B last year, Vowles will once again get behind the wheel, while Williams Reserve Driver Luke Browning and WEC driver
Jamie Chadwick will also be a part of Williams' celebrations this weekend.

Hill 'very excited' for 'truly amazing' experience
“Goodwood is an incredibly special event that showcases the best of British motorsport, and it’s an honour to be taking on the hillclimb alongside Damon, Jamie and Luke this year," Vowles said in a press release after the news was announced.
"To see Damon reunited with the FW18 as we mark 30 years since his World Drivers’ Championship is hugely meaningful for the team and for motorsport fans. Moments like these bring together our past, present and future, and that’s something we’re proud to celebrate.”
Williams Ambassador Hill, who will also be honoured on the balcony of Goodwood House on Saturday, June 11, was also very excited to get behind the wheel to climb up the world-famous hill: “I am delighted and very excited to be reunited with my championship-winning FW18 and Williams, who made it all possible at this summer's Festival of Speed.
"To see the car return to Goodwood 30 years later, and to share that moment with the fans, is truly amazing. Thanks to the team at Grove for their work in getting the FW18 back on track. I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel!”
