Verstappen returns to racing: the schedule of the 2026 Nurburgring Qualifiers

While there will be no Formula 1 Grand Prix this weekend after the cancellation of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Verstappen will still be in action.

The four-time world champion returns to the Nordschleife for the second competitive time in the 2026 season, taking on the ADAC 24h Nurburgring Qualifiers. During the weekend, two Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie rounds (NLS4 and NLS5) will also take place.

Max Verstappen's teammate will be Austrian driver Lucas Auer, while Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon will be present at Imola to compete in the World Endurance Championship.

Last weekend, Verstappen.com Racing was busy at the Circuit Paul Ricard. The number 3 car was driven by Daniel Juncadella, Jules Gounon, and Chris Lulham. They finished in ninth place.

The French-Andorran driver fell ill after the race. He suffered from food poisoning on the eve of the race. He lost a significant amount of fluids and got very little sleep, requiring early medical attention on race day.

Gounon was declared fit to race after receiving treatment and went on to complete a demanding double stint. However, he fainted after stepping out of the car and had to spend several more hours under observation at the medical centre.
