"The Nordschleife is at the top of my list of tracks I want to race on."
- Max Verstappen
“Racing is not just my profession, but also my hobby," the Dutchman began on Verstappen.com.
“This weekend I am at the Nordschleife with the goal to qualify for the mandatory race permit needed to race here in a GT3 car, which I would love.
"The Nordschleife is at the top of my list of tracks I want to race on, as it’s extremely challenging and demanding, with its enormous length and tight historic layout. I can’t wait!”

Verstappen's plan for achieving Nordschleife permit

Despite a weekend off in the Formula 1 calendar, the four-time world champion will be in action this Saturday as well after winning the Italian Grand Prix.
On Saturday morning, Verstappen will participate in qualifying, and then in four-hour race as part of his bid to obtain a DMSB Permit Nordschleife.
He will do so by driving stints in two different cars, as a minimum of seven completed laps is needed to secure two results for the permit. If one of the cars retire, he will could also compete in Race 8 on Sunday, for which neither cars are registered at the moment.
Verstappen will compete in Race 7 of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie at the Nordschleife, which is one of his favourite tracks.
Earlier this year, the Dutchman already visited the circuit nicknamed the 'Green Hell.'
Under the pseudonym 'Franz Hermann,' he also set an unofficial track record.

Verstappen could drive at the 24h of Nürburgring already by next year

The Dutchman has a well-known passion for endurance racing. With such a permit, it is already possible for the four-time world champion to drive at the 24h of Nürburgring in 2026.
As the event is set to take place during the off-weeks between the Miami and Canadian Grand Prix, the event would not clash with the F1 season.
