Austria was a home race to forget for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen. Now the sights are set on the British Grand Prix and the challenges it brings. Will Red Bull's form be stronger? According to the Dutchman, first they need to find this key element. After a weekend to forget, Verstappen hopes for a stronger Red Bull
Speaking on Red Bull's preview of the British Grand Prix weekend, Verstappen quickly dimissed the deplorable result and lacking performance in Spielberg.
"Austria was a weekend to forget; we were pretty unlucky and it was not the result that we wanted. However, we want to come back stronger and hopefully can analyse and find more pace in the car so we can be more competitive to head into another Team home race."
As far as what went wrong in Austria is concerned Verstappen is rather vague and simply pushes the team forward as a whole. "We have been looking at what went wrong over the weekend and will do everything we can to keep pushing forward as a Team."
'Not easy to overtake' at Silverstone, and concerns over the unpredictability of the weather
Verstappen has reached the checkered flag in P1 at the legendary track twice in his career: In 2020 and in 2023. The Dutchman knows what challenges he has to overcome to come away with a successful race weekend from the British Grand Prix.
"Silverstone has lots of high-speed corners which are hard to overtake and it is a track with lots of history. It is always a busy one for us, with lots of events going on, but it is nice for the Team to be close to home this weekend. You never know what the weather might bring so we will see what happens," Verstappen concluded.
