Max Verstappen has given Kimi Antonelli a funny piece of advice for the start of the Monaco Grand Prix. According to the Dutchman, the Italian should wait a little longer than usual. Antonelli was initially asked about how he plans to approach tomorrow's start in Monte Carlo. The Italian began: "I mean, the start in Montreal, for the first time I didn't lose… Well, I still lost a place on Sunday. But for the first time I didn't lose like six or seven places, so it was a step forward. It's a pretty short run into Monaco, into Turn 1, so, yes, just need to get a clean start, don't try to do the 'magic start,' and then we'll see from there."

Verstappen and
Lewis Hamilton was then asked if he had any advice for Antonelli regarding the start. Instead of giving serious advice, Verstappen said: "
So when the lights go out, you wait one second, and then... That's my advice." Hamilton then also joined in smiling, adding:
"Two seconds!" Qualifying was a nail-biter in Monaco today. After the first runs in Q3, Verstappen was just a thousandth of a second slower than Antonelli. In the decisive final lap, Verstappen was even quicker. He improved again and set the fastest time, but Antonelli went 0.043 seconds faster than the Red Bull Racing driver, which put him on pole position.
Hamilton will start the race from third on the grid. He was quicker than
Charles Leclerc, who hit the wall on his final lap. Behind the Monegasque,
Isack Hadjar starts P5, while
George Russell had a
disappointing qualifying session in Monaco. He set the sixth-fastest time, putting him on the third row for the Grand Prix in the Principality.
