Pirelli has announced the choice of tyres for the Russian Grand Prix and the Grand Prix in Mugello, the GP Tuscany Ferrari 1000. For the GP of Tuscany hard tyres will be included and in Russia one can choose from the softest variants.
We haven't seen an unconventional selection panel this season where a compound is skipped. Each time Pirelli took either the C2, C3, C4 or the C1, C2, C3. With a choice of, for example, C1, C2 and C4, the strategies often become interesting. However, the circuits must allow this.
For the newest additions to the calendar we do not see this. We do see that in Tuscany the drivers will have the same choice as during the first race at Silverstone (the second race there has softer tyres) and Spain, to wit the C1, C2 and C3.

First time C5 in Russia

With the C3, C4, C5 in Russia, Pirelli has chosen the softest tyres. So September 27th we see the C5's in action for the first time this year.
