The British Grand Prix is set up to be a superb race, with the field incredibly competitive at Silverstone. The 20 cars were very evenly matched of the qualifying session on Saturday with very little margin for error across the field.
McLaren have been superb this season so far, the British team is leading the Constructors' Championship.
Despite their good form,
Max Verstappen stormed to an unexpected pole position for Red Bull at
Silverstone.
The Dutchman made no mistakes when it mattered in Q3 and took advantage of Red Bull's low-downforce setup.
Verstappen will lead the field off the line while Oscar Piastri will look to challenge him from second place.
Lando Norris took third position at his home race, ahead of two fellow British drivers. George Russell snatched fourth,
with Lewis Hamilton in fifth.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli performed reasonably in qualifying for Mercedes but dropped to 10th after a three-place grid drop. That comes from his crash with Verstappen from the previous weekend.
Further down the field, Franco Colapinto will start from the pit lane after crashing his Alpine in the first part of qualifying. Oliver Bearman also starts P18 after getting a 10-place grid penalty after a red flag infringement in practice.
