Adrian Newey has had the finger pointed at him for the lack of upgrades at Aston Martin so far during a difficult 2026 season.
Aston Martin have had a disastrous campaign and have scored just one point through Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix. They are set to abandon their AMR26 with a new car on the way later this season.
While other teams are bringing upgrades, there has been a noticeable lack of upgrades for Aston Martin, despite their issues so far this season.

Speaking to media outlets including GPblog ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, Aston Martin's chief trackside officer Krack insisted that the team are not standing still.
"We are not standing still because there is a lot of things going on beyond the declarations but it is a fact that we have seen others moving on (new upgrades). We have a leader (Adrian Newey) that has taken the decision to do it like this.
"It sounds repetitive but if you take as a team a decision like this, you have to commit to it. Then we should also not complain every week about these deficiencies, but you have to stick together and get the maximum out of it and be prepared for better times.
When asked the new package will be ready he added: "We like everyone is flat out working because we want to get the maximum out of it. So you always push the deadlines as much as you can and we will bring it as soon as we are ready."
Aston Martin are expecting another difficult weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix, with the only hope being that they can finish ahead of Cadillac. Meanwhile, Jak Crawford will step in for Lance Stroll during FP1 on Friday morning.
