After the finish flag was waved in Canada, many fans flocked to the track. The only problem was that this happened too early as there were still cars on the track. As a result, they had to report to the stewards after the Grand Prix at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Unsafe situation after Canadian GP

Safety is a big requirement for organising a Grand Prix. The regulations contain rules for teams and drivers, of course, but also for organisations. It is therefore not surprising that the organisers of the race in Canada had to report after the event.
When the organisers of the Canadian Grand Prix had to report, they admitted that things went wrong in allowing fans on the track. They therefore agreed and with the FIA Sporting Delegate and the report passed on by the race committee.

Verdict for Canadian GP organisers

For now, it has no major implications for the Canadian Grand Prix. However, the race organisers will have to come up with a remediation plan. This must be shown to the FIA by 30 September 2024 at the latest.
In addition, the stewards have also asked the FIA to take another look at the situation to check whether further measures need to be taken. This will be done directly with the race organisers. Finally, the stewards stress that an incident like this should not happen more often. Should it do, a large fine will follow.
