Rumours surfaced this week that Guenther Steiner has found an investor to buy into a team in Formula 1. It was speculated that Steiner wanted to try to buy Visa Cash App RB, but he now denies this himself. This is according to
Speedcafe, which contacted the former
Haas F1 team boss. Steiner has a past at 'big brothers' Red Bull as technical director.
Whether - and if so which - teams Steiner has his eye on is not clear. In any case, not many team owners seem keen on a (partial) sale. The 59-year-old might have shown an interest in Alpine, but Bruno Famin said his team are not for sale earlier this week.
After leaving Haas
F1, Steiner is not currently working for another team in motorsport. He does, however, occasionally do the podium interviews for
Formula 1.
