Williams driver Robert Kubica is excited to have a brand-new experience when he takes to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit this weekend for the Mexican Grand Prix.
Kubica has never raced at the new edition of the circuit, but did race at the previous layout over a decade ago and the Williams driver, who will leave Formula 1 at the end of the season, is wanting to make the most of his final races.
"I am looking forward to going to Mexico City," Kubica said. "I only had the chance to drive the circuit in its previous layout for a demo run over 10 years ago, so it will be a new experience for me.
"It is a unique place because we run at very high altitude, so the downforce level is much lower due to the air density. I will be handing the car to Nicholas (Latifi) for FP1, so I will have to learn the track quickly in FP2."
Williams confirmed Latifi, who is tipped to replace Kubica at the British team next season, will be making another free practice appearance by replacing the Polish driver for FP1.
