The entire world is now aware of Christian Horner’s dismissal as team principal of Red Bull Racing. Yet, remarkably, the Milton Keynes-based team has remained silent so far, with no official response or acknowledgement of the news.
Update: They have since made this Instagram post thanking Horner for his efforts with the team.
Within the F1 paddock, Red Bull Racing's social media team is known for its sharp and often witty content. However, on a day dominated by major news, the team's online channels have fallen unusually silent.
Their last Instagram post, shared Wednesday morning, focused on the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, with no mention whatsoever of Christian Horner’s departure.

Why did Red Bull Racing stay silent?

The media team, which maintains contacts with journalists, including GPblog, is hardly releasing any information.
For questions, referrals are made solely to Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of Red Bull Racing. In turn, it has sent a brief press release thanking Horner for his services.
The sister team, Racing Bulls, has also released a brief press statement confirming that Laurent Mekies will move to Red Bull Racing to replace Christian Horner. In the same announcement, they revealed that Alan Permane will step in as Mekies’ successor at Racing Bulls.
Why it remains so quiet from Red Bull Racing is unclear. However, GPblog has heard through the grapevine that the team's head of communications has also been sidelined. This, too, has yet to be officially confirmed.
