With the dismissal of Christian Horner, a new team principal has taken over at Racing Bulls. Alan Permane steps in to replace Laurent
Mekies. Christian Horner has been dismissed from Red Bull Racing and
replaced by former Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies. With this move,
Red Bull advances its own ranks to address the dismissal of the Red Bull CEO and
team principal. Mekies, in turn, is also replaced by
someone from within the team.
Who is Mekies' successor?
That would be Alan Permane. The Briton, who worked at Racing Bulls
as the sporting director, will now take over Mekies' duties as
team principal. Permane sounds upbeat about his new role in the Racing Bulls press release.
‘’I feel very honoured to take on the role as Team Principal and would like to thank Oliver and Helmut for the trust they have shown in me.
"I am looking forward to working with Peter to continue the good work that both him and Laurent have done in taking this team forward. This is a new challenge for me, but I know that I can count on the support of everyone within them.”

Alan Permane has been active in Formula 1 for years and was well known as the sporting director of Alpine/Renault. There, he was shuffled aside in 2023 during yet another restructuring within the team. Red
Bull took advantage of this by appointing him as the
sporting director of Racing Bulls in 2024.
