A "proud" Max Verstappen said he was "definitely not disappointed" after missing out on the World Championship by just two points. "The way we fought back in the second half of the season, we can be really, really proud of that."

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix,
Lando Norris' podium finish saw the
McLaren driver become World Champion after an enthralling 2025 season, as both drivers and
Oscar Piastri all vied for the title.
The Dutchman sat 104 points off the top of the standings after the Dutch Grand Prix, but a stunning turn of form in the second half of the season gave Verstappen the chance to win a fifth consecutive world title and complete one of the best comebacks ever seen in
Formula 1.
The 28-year-old continued with that until the very end, controlling the Grand Prix at the
Yas Marina Circuit from pole position. But with results not going his way, another title just evaded him.

Verstappen and Red Bull 'not giving up'
Despite just falling short, an upbeat Verstappen had plenty of positive words for his team and the comeback they staged in the second half of the season.
"Congrats, guys. The way we fought back in the second half of the season, we can be really, really proud of that," Verstappen stated over the team radio after the 58-lap race.
"So, don't be too disappointed. I'm definitely not disappointed. I'm really proud of everyone for not giving up."
