Lando Norris dismissed Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo as the toughest intra-team rivals he's gone up against in F1. "I’m glad I’ve had Oscar the last three years, because even though he’s still a lot newer to it than me, I’ve learned a lot from him, and he showed me up at many times."

Oscar Piastri. Speaking after securing his maiden title, the Bristol-born driver praised his teammate for making him a better and overall title-worthy driver.
“I’m lucky, the team have given me an incredible car that’s made my life very easy at times,” Norris told GPblog.
“At times, we’ve still struggled, and even I’ve struggled against Oscar, and Oscar’s done an incredible job."
Piastri showed Norris up
According to Norris he actually learned a lot from the younger and more inexperienced Piastri, noting that the level of the challenge put forward by his Australian teammate was higher than former teammates Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo.
“I’m glad I’ve had Oscar the last three years, because even though he’s still a lot newer to it than me, I’ve learned a lot from him, and he showed me up at many times," Norris continued.
“I’ve managed to learn a lot from him, and I wouldn’t be the driver I am today without that.
“Of course, also with my other teammates, with Carlos, with Daniel the last few years. But, he’s made me have to dig even deeper than I ever have before.
“Because by the midpoint of the season, he was performing better than I was, and doing a better job consistently. And then after Zandvoort, it was pretty tough," Norris concluded.
Villeneuve thinks Norris came out stronger from battling Verstappen
Jacques Villeneuve says Norris’s focus on battling Max Verstappen helped him elevate his performance and secure his first F1 title in Abu Dhabi, edging Verstappen by two points after a strong second half of the season.
