Lando Norris would love the chance to team up with former MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi in endurance racing one day. Defending
Formula 1 world champion Norris and Italian superstar Rossi appeared together at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where they were interviewed after completing their runs.
After retiring from MotoGP, Rossi switched to GT racing. He has competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship, and he is currently racing in the GT World Challenge Europe for Team WRT, the same series in which Max Verstappen's team also competes.
Rossi and Norris to become teammates in the future
With multiple drivers also competing in GT3 cars this year, including Verstappen and Lance Stroll, Karun Chandhok asked Norris whether he would like to team up with Rossi in endurance racing one day.
The Briton said: "Yeah, I would [like to be teammates with him]." Rossi is already working on that, he quickly added: "I tried to ask him. They are very busy now."
Norris continued:
"We have too many races, but with now McLaren having Le Mans, then maybe next year... no, not next year. In a couple of years, three, four years, I would love to, it would be an honor for me, and we will have a lot of fun for sure."Rossi is currently 47 years old. Therefore, he concluded: "I try to wait for Lando."
Norris tried to outsmart the entire F1 grid with a cheeky move at Silverstone: 'Is that possible?'
Norris asked his race engineer, Will Joseph, over the team radio whether it was possible to win the British Grand Prix by driving through the pit lane last Sunday.
After Verstappen's crash in the closing laps of the British Grand Prix, the Safety Car was deployed at Silverstone, bunching up the field.
Over the team radio, the defending world champion asked whether it was possible to win the race by entering the pit lane. Due to the unique layout of the Silverstone track, a car can reach the finish line more quickly that way.
Norris said:
"You’re not allowed to box are you? You can’t win it in the pit lane?" "No, you're not," Will Joseph answered to Norris. "Shame," the British driver concluded.
