Max Verstappen says he enjoys racing around the Red Bullring as he looks to make up on the time he lost last season due to his crash at turn 1.
If Verstappen makes it onto the podium this weekend, he will make it a hat-trick of podiums. The French Grand Prix produces Red Bull's first back to back podiums, and they'll be looking to reach the same target at their home track. The Dutchman is yet to win a race this season. Verstappen was fast to add praise about the circuit, something which hasn't been uncommon in the build up.
"The Austrian Grand Prix is always a special one. It is, of course, the home of Red Bull, so we have a good following of Austrian fans and also a lot of Dutch," Verstappen told Formula1.com.
"Two years ago I was on the podium, so it would be really nice to get back up there this year in front of all our supporters."
The 20-year-old is expecting a huge turnout of Dutch fans at the Grand Prix as he hopes to feed off their energy.
"There is, in fact, a Dutch campsite just outside the circuit which I heard around 5,000 fans are attending - that sounds like it will be fun, certainly noisy!"
