Jorge Martin will not be able to compete in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix after the crash he suffered during the Sprint.
Entering the weekend as the championship leader, the Spaniard was battling his rival Marc Marquez at the Phillip Island circuit during the Sprint. On lap 8, the Aprilia rider crashed out.
After the crash, Martin went to the medical centre, where X-rays revealed a fracture of the radius in his forearm and a suspected fracture of the distal end of the ulna near the wrist. Martin will undergo further examination, but he has already been declared unfit for Sunday's race.
Ducati's Marquez won the Sprint in Australia this Saturday, and he now leads the riders’ standings by nine points. With Martin not on the grid tomorrow, he can further extend his lead as well on Sunday.

Another Aprilia rider withdraws from the Australian Grand Prix
Raul Fernandez also withdrew from riding on Sunday due to inflammation around his finger fracture. After Luca Marini was already unable to take on the Sprint, this means that only 18 riders will compete in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix.
