Teams and drivers are arriving at the Speilberg circuit this morning to a damp track and a miserable sky. This weather is expected to continue through to tomorrow's practice sessions, but on Sunday, it's expected to dry out.
Qualifying on Saturday is also currently forecast to be dry, but rather cloudly. Williams have tweeted about the current conditions as they arrived at the track this morning.
The track could be very green for qualifying in particular which could throw up a few surprises.
The wind played its part last time out in France causing drivers to spin, often at turn 6 in practice. 40kph gusts have been forecast, so drivers have plenty of condition changes to keep their eyes on.
Last year in Austria, the race took place on a very unusually hot day for the time of year with temperatures rising to 30c. The temperatures this year are expected to be around 10c cooler.
Soft, super-soft and ultra-soft are all available this weekend. With the rain on Friday, testing the tyres will be limited prior to the race.
