Helmut Marko has hinted that Alex Dunne will not join Red Bull. The Irishman had been linked with a switch from McLaren to the Milton Keynes-based team, however, he could still join Red Bull's junior team, Racing Bulls.
GPblog reported a few weeks ago that Red Bull had Alex Dunne on their radar, when the Austrian confirmed the interest in the McLaren junior.

'Dunne is not an option'

Soon after, McLaren and Dunne announced parting way with immediate effect, which increased speculation about the young driver joining the Red Bull team. Marko then reaffirmed that Dunne was an interesting driver.
Now, in a new interview with the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung, the Red Bull advisor commented on Dunne, leading to some ambiguity. He said: "He [Dunne] is not an option for us."

However, it’s not entirely clear whether the 82-year-old was referring to a 2026 Racing Bulls seat, or if joining the Red Bull junior team is also off the table. GPblog previously learned that Dunne is not a candidate for an F1 seat - also because he doesn't have a super license.

Lindblad for entry into Formula 1

Marko again hinted that Arvid Lindblad has a strong chance of being promoted from Formula 2 to Formula 1, potentially into a Racing Bulls seat.
"He is simply younger than Hadjar. And we have seen in the past that age plays a role in Formula 1. But in general, he is also one of our candidates with the most potential. We will also see him in the car this year," said the Austrian.
