Ferrari unveils stunning Schumacher-inspired livery for home Italian Grand Prix

Ahead of Ferrari's home weekend, the team had already teased that this year's special livery would be inspired by Michael Schumacher and his lasting impact on the Scuderia. It takes inspiration from the team's 1996 livery.

The team previously revealed the racesuits Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will wear at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza later this week.

Both feature seven stars, representing Schumacher's seven F1 world titles, five of which he won with the Italian outfit.

Up next on the Formula 1 calendar is the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Hamilton is excited to contest Ferrari's home weekend for the second time in red.

He told GPblog, among others: "Yeah, we're in a much different place than we have been in the past, obviously, than last year. We're still second in the Constructors' Championship.

"We've got a lot of positives to take from this first half. The next ones, we really need to turn up the heat if we're going to have any chance of getting these guys," he said referring to Mercedes and McLaren.

Ferrari has also been urged to support the Briton over Leclerc if the Scuderia wants to have an impact on this year's title battle. Rob Smedley, the team's former employee commented on the High Performance Racing Podcast: "They haven't got the best car consistently, but they have on occasions got the best car, and they're going to make it count then, and they're going to make sure that Lewis wins. On all the other occasions, they're just going to make sure that they maximize Lewis' points.

"This is just about doing what is the sensible thing for the team and trying to maximize Ferrari's position in the world championship," he concluded.
