Ferrari reveal more details of a special livery for Monza

The Scuderia posted a short video accompanied by the ominous message “Home is calling”, offering fans a series of tantalising glimpses of what appears to be a historic Ferrari from the Michael Schumacher era.

The footage appears to reference the iconic 1996 Ferrari F310, the car Schumacher drove during his first season with the legendary Italian team. Italian media reports suggest Ferrari is preparing a special SF-26 livery inspired by that machine for next week's home race.

Schumacher's relationship with Ferrari remains one of the most iconic partnerships in Formula 1 history. The German arrived at Maranello in 1996 after winning two world championships with Benetton, eventually becoming the central figure in Ferrari's transformation into the dominant force of the early 2000s.

The 2026 Italian Grand Prix marks 30 years since Schumacher joined Ferrari and claimed his first victory for the Scuderia, while it is also 20 years since his final F1 victory in 2006.

Reports indicate the modern SF-26 could feature a colour scheme inspired by the F310, including red and black detailing and gold wheels — a dramatic departure from the team's standard 2026 appearance.

The team posted images of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in new racesuits for the Italian GP at Monza.

Ferrari has been bench-testing a redesigned turbocharger that was initially touted to deliver around 15 horsepower, though internal expectations have since been tempered.

With Monza’s power-sensitive layout, even a smaller gain could matter, but the team must balance potential straight-line speed against reliability risks at a pivotal stage of the season.
