Charles Leclerc has opened up on what he believes made his teammate Lewis Hamilton so successful throughout his Formula 1 career.
The Monegasque driver has had both the privilege and the challenge of teaming up with the most successful driver in Formula 1 history alongside Michael Schumacher in terms of world titles, already proving since last season that he is capable of beating Hamilton and handling the pressure, helped by his strong position within the team.
Leclerc scored 242 points last season compared to the seven-time world champion’s 156, securing seven podium finishes and a pole position while Hamilton failed to achieve either. The trend has also continued so far this year, with the Ferrari driver once again delivering stronger results and already claiming one more podium than his teammate.

Leclerc reveals secret behind Hamilton’s Formula 1 success

Speaking to Sky Sport F1, Leclerc explained that Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari represented a huge learning opportunity for him, revealing that he has carefully studied every aspect of the seven-time world champion’s preparation process, from the work done away from the track to the moment he gets inside the car.
“Since the day Lewis arrived in the team, for me, it was a huge opportunity to learn from him. I analysed every single thing he does as a preparation, all the way to when he jumps into the car. And then I would say the driving, it’s more specific from track to track. We’ve got our own strengths and sometimes I will look at him on a particular corner and I will analyse that, but that’s more specific track to track. But I think the approach is what made him have all the success that he’s had in the past.”
