Charles Leclerc has admitted that he is learning from F1 veteran Lewis Hamilton as the pair aim to improve their Ferrari. The Monegasque driver has taken motivation from the British Grand Prix, despite finishing in 14th place.
It was a tough race for Leclerc, which even included contact with ex-Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz.
On the other side of the Ferrari garage, seven-time world champion Hamilton finished in fourth place, just missing out on a 13th consecutive Silverstone podium to
Nico Hulkenberg. Although Leclerc was left frustrated with his pointless finish, he maintained a positive outlook, ad he believes that it will help Ferrari improve their 2025 challenger.
Hamilton was 'much stronger' at Silverstone
"I didn’t see Lewis’ pace, but he was much, much stronger than me. So the only positive I would say is that whenever you've got Lewis in the same car and being much faster than me today, there are definitely some things that I will learn from a day like this," Leclerc stated to GPblog and other media present.
"Because when you struggle as a team and the two drivers are struggling, it's a lot more difficult to know what's going wrong," he continued.
Even though Leclerc was well-beaten by his teammate at Silverstone, he still has scored 16 more points than Hamilton at the halfway stage of 2025.
The Italian team sits second in the constructors standings on 222 points, 238 behind dominant leaders McLaren.
Hamilton has scored 103 points this season to Leclerc's 119
At next weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, the Ferrari pair will be hoping an upward trend can be found. Leclerc also revealed that upgrades are still to come to the SF-25.
"I think having performance eventually is what we need. We've got some upgrades coming which will cure some particular weaknesses of the car which I think will help us in some phases of the corner.
"I won't go too much into detail, but again I think there are some weaknesses we didn't hide them and we'll try and fix them as soon as possible."
