Liam Lawson has revealed what he must do to keep his seat at Racing Bulls and continue with the team in 2026. "It is nothing in particular, other than just scoring points and having good races."
- Liam LawsonThe New Zealander has endured a difficult season having been demoted from Red Bull after two races, back to Racing Bulls.
He explained in Singapore that Lawson needs to secure points finishes and perform consistently over the final rounds.
Lawson said: "It is nothing in particular, other than just scoring points and having good races.
"The main thing for us is scoring points, we are fighting for P6 in the constructors', and the team is very focused on that. If we achieve that, it naturally means I've probably done my job.
"From a wider perspective, that's probably the goal for me: every time I get in the car, trying to get the most out of it and score as many points as I can."
External advisor Helmut Marko has previously indicated that the decision regarding Red Bull's second driver will be made around the Mexican Grand Prix, which will take place from 24 to 26 October.

Lawson has had a mixed run of results since the summer break, a season-best fifth-place finish in Azerbaijan is his only top 10 in the past four rounds.
He then finished to 15th place last time out in Singapore after two crashes in practice. Racing Bulls are aiming to hold onto sixth in the Constructors' Championship, fighting main rivals Aston Martin.
The Italian team sit on 72 points, four ahead of Aston Martin with six rounds to go with the United States Grand Prix next.
Lawson compares himself to Verstappen
Lawson began the season at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen as the Kiwi replaced the outgoing Sergio Perez. The season got off to a very difficult start as Lawson didn't score a single point in Australia and China.
Lawson said Verstappen is very impressive, and his raw speed, as well as his consistency, is eye-catching.
