Komatsu throws Magnussen in front of bus after Perez crash: 'Not up to him'

Kevin Magnussen got into a big crash with Red Bull driver Sergio Perez at the Monaco Grand Prix. Where the Dane did not think he did anything wrong, team boss Ayao Komatsu said something very different in the press conference over the weekend of the Canadian Grand Prix on Friday. Komatsu threw his driver in front of the bus during the press conference.
Magnussen said even before the first session in Canada that he 'should not have trusted' Perez. On the first lap of the Monaco Grand Prix, Magnussen and Perez collided. There was too little space for two cars side by side, it turned out. Unlike Magnussen, Komatsu does not give the Dane the benefit of the doubt.

Komatsu on Magnussen's action

"The decision making process at that instant to go for that gap which wasn't really there, it's not necessarily right and then he expected Perez to leave more room for him but that's not up to him in the end. There was a point where everything was under his control where he could have made a decision to back off which he didn't," Komatsu said.
"We spoke about this openly just to be safe for this weekend. He needs to deliver a clean weekend here and I think this circuit could play to our car's strengths and hide our weakness," Komatsu concluded.
