For Ferrari the implementation of the revised TD018 that aims to restraint front wing flexion from the Spanish Grand Prix onward, is a reason to hope that the tide may turn in their favor.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc certainly holds that hope. In the 8 championship rounds that have been contested so far, Ferrari has only ever been able to score a podium finish twice, with one of them being in the most atypical track on the calendar, the Monaco Grand Prix.
Everywhere else, with the exception of Saudi Arabia and the sprint race in China, Ferrari has conceded chunks of lap time to rivals McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull.
However, for the Spanish Grand Prix the FIA is implementing a set of regulatory changes that may swing the tides in the Scuderia's favor, or so they would surely like to think.

Why Leclerc's hopes are rekindled for Spain

Speaking to Sky Sport afters the Monaco Grand Prix Leclerc hinted at a chance that Ferrari could close the gap to McLaren with the FIA directive that is set to be implemented for the Spanish Grand Prix, mainly fueled by paddock talks.
“I really hope so, but I don’t know. I don’t know how much the others are using it (front wing flexing, ed.)."
“You can hear rumours in the paddock and some people will be more affected than others, for sure.
“I don’t think on our side is going to change a lot, but we’ll see.”
