A delegation of F1 drivers confirmed their earlier remarks in a call with the FIA, following up on Monday’s broader meeting.
Various media outlets reported on Saturday that the Formula 1 drivers and the FIA held their scheduled meeting on Friday to discuss potential rule changes. That does not tell the whole story.
As GPblog reported on Tuesday, the main meeting between the FIA and Formula One Management (FOM) took place last Monday, with Max Verstappen also in attendance.
There was indeed contact with the FIA on Friday, to dot the i’s and cross the t’s after the original, larger meeting a few days earlier. Not all drivers were present on this call with the motorsport federation. Reports that the meeting went positively actually refer back to the previous one, the meeting that this site reported on.
