Max Verstappen and other F1 drivers held a virtual meeting last Monday with the FIA and Formula One Management to discuss potential adjustments to the technical regulations. GPblog understands from various sources that the talks were ‘positive and productive.’ The FIA and the teams’ technical personnel met virtually last Thursday to discuss possible short-term changes. The intention is for team principals to make decisions on April 20, after which the resolutions must be ratified by the World Motor Sport Council.
Before then, there was an intention to speak with the drivers about their experiences and the proposed adjustments from the meeting with the technical heads,
as GPblog subsequently reported. That consultation appears to have indeed taken place on Monday.
Verstappen attended the meeting
Alongside GPDA chairman
George Russell, Verstappen was also present at the online meeting. That comes as no surprise, given the Red Bull Racing driver has been one of the most outspoken critics of the current regulations. Verstappen has even expressed such strong dissatisfaction with the current style of racing that he has questioned his long-term future in
Formula 1.

It now remains to be seen how many of the drivers’ proposals will be reflected in the FIA and Formula 1’s final adjustments. Those changes are expected to become visible as early as the next Grand Prix weekend in Miami in early May.
