The NLS4 race on the Nordschleife has been halted due to a mega crash. Seven cars were involved in the incident. GT driver Misha Charoudin provides an update from the circuit.
The race was stopped after about half an hour due to a major crash. Telemetry data showed multiple cars stranded at the Karussell and many unable to make it back to the pit lane. There were also ambulances on the track and a medevac helicopter was deployed.
"My car is currently still stuck in traffic. There’s been a very big crash. I think someone dropped fluid. Whether it’s fuel, oil, coolant, you name it," Charoudin tells Viaplay.

"That car did as well. At the moment, about six to seven cars have crashed, to the extent that the road is blocked. There’s a huge traffic jam to get back (to the pit lane)," he notes.
"So far we haven’t heard whether everyone is okay. I know the ambulance is there. I also heard a helicopter."

Charoudin knows that the fast section where several cars are now stuck can be dangerous at very high speeds. "You arrive there really fast, it’s a quick section. If you don’t have brakes in the braking zone there, you’re coming in at 220 kilometers per hour. Then things can go wrong. We’ll wait and see. There’s another race tomorrow," says the driver.
"The most important thing is that everyone is okay," he concludes. The red flag situation has now lasted for almost an hour. The clock keeps running, because due to the curfew the race cannot be postponed. The Verstappen Racing car, with Lucas Auer doing the opening stint, is in the pit lane.
