NLS4 cancelled after driver passes away at the Nordschleife

The driver of the #121 BMW was involved in an incident at the Karussell. As a result, NLS4 was cancelled at the circuit. Tomorrow, a minute of silence will be held in his honour.

The crash was said to have been caused by a fluid leak, and also involved the #27 Aston Martin, #111 BMW, #410 Porsche, #448 Porsche, #503 Toyota, and #992 Porsche. The other six drivers involved are not in a life-threatening condition. The rest of the weekend will continue as planned at the German circuit.

It was Lucas Auer who started first in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. After starting in ninth place due to a three-place grid penalty, the Austrian lost a position in the opening corners, dropping to P10. He later regained the place and was running ninth when the red flag was waved.

Verstappen was meant to take over, but as a result, he was not able to drive at all this afternoon at the Nordschleife.
