The dismissal of Christian Horner as team principal of Red Bull Racing has hit the Milton Keynes factory hard, according to Sky Sports analysts. Sky: 'Milton Keynes is in shock'
According to Sky, Horner came to Milton Keynes on Wednesday morning to say goodbye to the staff. "It's a shocked campus at Milton Keynes," says Craig Slater. "Christian Horner came here this morning and addressed the staff at 10am UK time, then left at around 11.25am." He adds that the staff remains silent. "Staff are making no comment. This is being handled by Red Bull's Salzburg office."
Sky commentator David Croft describes an emotional atmosphere at Red Bull. "It is a unified sense of disappointment and a sadness [for] a man that they see has unified their team." He refers to the speech Horner gave to the factory staff on Wednesday morning: "We understand was hugely emotional, and Christian himself was very emotional and broke down on occasion. He received a massive ovation at the end of that speech from a workforce that are very loyal to him because he has helped bring success, and bonuses, and world championship glory."
