Horner expects frustrated Verstappen on radio: 'Will be very difficult'

The Monaco Grand Prix weekend has so far been dramatic for Red Bull Racing with sixth and 18th place finishes for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez respectively. Christian Horner expects a lot of frustrated radio messages from his drivers during Sunday's Formula 1 race.

"It's been a struggle all weekend, to be honest with you," Horner began to Sky Sports. "The car hasn't suited the characteristics of this circuit, but up until that last run, we were still, I don't think we would have beaten Charles today, but potentially anywhere between second and sixth place was on, and unfortunately, we didn't get that last run in.."
"I think in the race tomorrow, I think actually our race pace on the long run yesterday was pretty good, but whether we'll get to demonstrate that or not, I'm not sure with how the traffic plays out, so yeah. I mean, congrats to Charles, he's been very very strong through all the sessions, but we'll try and do our best. We'll make as much progress as we can tomorrow.," the Red Bull team principal continued.
Asked if he expects frustrated radio messages from Verstappen and Perez, Horner replied, "I think we're going to be in a high-speed traffic jam for a while. I think we're going to be in a high-speed traffic jam for the first certainly 25% of the race, I would imagine, but yeah, it's a frustrating race, this one for the drivers. The cars are so big here that overtaking really isn't on unless the car ahead makes a significant mistake."
